The theory of SLA is the activation energy produced by the highest energy ultraviolet light in the spectrum can break the C-C bond of unsaturated polyester resin, produce free radicals and solidify the resin.
The material of SLA is photopolymer and the entire material tank need to be filled with that. The main working equipments are laser and vibration mirror. The ultraviolet light emitted by laser is illuminated to the liquid surface of the specified material groove by computer-controlled polarization to solidify it. The model is divided into N slices in advance by computer. Each slice can be regarded as a two-dimensional plane. After solidification, a slice plane mesh plate will descend to the next slice plane with the model, and the analogy will be made until the printing is completed.
Compared with other 3D printing technics, SLA have advantages such as it can prints various shapes, forming speed is fast, accuracy is high and the surface finish is the best. It can be applied to all the sections in manufacturing field. And it is widely used in the medical, human engineering and cultural relics protection area.
Now it is mainly applied in the design of new products and trial production of samples. To be more specific, the conceptual design to model design to structure design to the evaluation of basic functions the trail production of sample in the end. And small scale trail of products that have the plastic structure can be done with the technology of SLA.
