SLA3D printing requires a series of post-processing tasks because of the addition of a support structure, including: removing the model – soaking the alcohol – removing the support – air gun flushing – sanding. The following is a detailed introduction for you.
It is important to note that gloves should be worn when handling models. On the one hand to avoid direct contact with the skin for a long time, and on the other hand to play a protective role. Wash hands with hand sanitizer immediately after operation.
- Remove the model
It takes a certain skill to remove the model, and you can’t use brute force to smash it. If a rigid resin is used, it is easy to break the bottom and even break with the support, damaging the surface of the model. Be patient when removing the model, use a blade around the bottom to find the point of entry, and then slowly deepen the model to separate from the printing platform. - Soaking alcohol
Put the removed model in alcohol and wait for the residual liquid resin to cure. - Remove support
Soaking in alcohol for a while makes it easy to remove the support. Gap or a place that is difficult to remove needs to be removed by post-grinding. - Air gun flushing
The model was rinsed with a high-pressure air gun, the residual alcohol and resin were blown off, and the model was blown dry. - Polishing
The model is sanded to remove the printed texture of the support and surface that is difficult to remove. It can be colored after smoothing.
