With the gradual development of 3D printing technology in recent years and the demand of the medical industry, the medical biology industry is currently the industry with the most rapid expansion of 3D printing technology.
The 3D printing technology will gradually provide more complete personalized solutions for the medical biology industry, which will promote the research of artificial living tissues and organs in the field of regenerative medicine.
As one of the most common techniques in the medical field, computerized perspective imaging (CT) is a nondestructive testing technique for the reconstruction of three-dimensional images of objects based on external projected data.
The combination of CT technology, which obtains the digital model from the 3D entity, and 3D printing technology, which produces the 3D entity from the digital model, has been successfully applied in the fields of reverse engineering, equipment detection and maintenance and clinical medicine. In the medical field, the biggest temptation of 3D printing technology is to improve the efficiency and quality and make up for the shortage of industry supply side. Accurate personalized manufacturing provides efficient solutions and becomes the backbone of Industry 4.0.

CT technology covers the process of projection data acquisition, data correction and 3D image reconstruction, and finally obtains the 3D reconstructed image of the scanned object, while the input of 3D printing is exactly based on the 3D reconstructed data by CT technology.
After three-dimensional reconstruction, the three-dimensional data of the fault were obtained. After format conversion, morphological analysis and STL data were performed.By using STL data and combining WITH 3D printing, the sample was printed and the structural information of the original sample and the 3D printed sample was compared.
Application of THE combination of 3D printing and CT technology in medical treatment
In 2019, the cardiovascular Surgery Department of Xijing Hospital of the Air Force Military Medical University successfully performed transcatheter mitral valve replacement for an 85-year-old patient with heart disease.
This is the first 3D-print-guided transducted mitral valve replacement in Asia. Before surgery, the treatment team obtained data through CT technology, made a 3D model of the heart through 3D printing technology, combined with the preset model, accurate anatomic risk assessment and surgical simulation, and further defined the surgical indications and plans.

In terms of skull injury repair, based on the three-dimensional skull data reconstructed by CT scan, the skeletal algorithm is used to extract the internal vessels of the skull, and the relationship between the main vessels and capillaries is distinguished through morphology, so as to statistically analyze the detailed data of the vessels in the skull, which can provide a good theoretical basis for the subsequent 3D printing of skull scaffolds.

Resistance to the development of medical models
In recent years, with the continuous development of 3D printing technology, printing materials and effects are constantly improved, and the demand for personalized and accurate medical treatment is increasing, 3D printing technology has been significantly developed in the medical industry.
The role of 3D printed medical models, rehabilitation AIDS and surgical guides in realizing personalized customization has been gradually recognized by many medical disciplines. But the related fee payment system has been one of the obstacles that this kind of application has not been popularized.
AMA promotes 3D printing of medical models
In July 2019, the American medical association (AMA), which is used in the release of 3 d printing medical model and operation guide “general medical program code” III class code (code CPTCategory III) formal use, promote the wider use of 3 d printing medical model, guide, and also for other countries to promote 3 d print model, guide fee payments and medical review provides a certain reference.

Domestic provincial and municipal departments have gradually promoted 3D printing medical service projects
In 2015, in order to promote the application of 3D printing technology in the medical industry, hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued a pilot fee guidance standard
By 2019, guangdong, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan and Shanghai will also introduce new price items for related medical services.
About 250 new medical projects (III) will be added in Guangdong province in 2019, of which about 20 are related to 3D scanning, computer design and 3D printing.
Following the trend, the 2020 TCT Asia Summit will feature a healthcare forum
Based on the current development, TCT Asia will hold the 2020 TCT Asia Summit – Healthcare Forum at the same time in 2020, inviting relevant experts in the medical field to share the latest application status of 3D printing technology in the medical field for the audience.
